About This Event

This webinar features two sepsis presentations from the 2024 Pediatric Academic Societies Meeting:

Factors Associated with Early Pediatric ICU Transfer in Children with Medical Complexity and Septic Shock

Hannah E. Moore, MD, Salt Lake City Primary

In children with medical complexity (CMC) treated for septic shock in the pediatric emergency department, early ICU transfer was significantly associated with bundle non-compliance and higher mortality. Improvement efforts will focus on identifying barriers to timely fluid and antibiotic delivery to reduce ICU transfers and mortality.

Monocyte Anisocytosis Aids in Identifying Sepsis in Children with Suspected Infection

Lael Yonker, MD, MassGeneral Hospital for Children

Discover how monocyte anisocytosis can help clinicians in urgent care and emergency settings identify children at high risk of severe illness needing closer care versus those safe for outpatient follow-up. Multi-center trials are underway.

This webinar is part of a series focusing on sepsis research and guidelines for children's hospitals.
