CHA's 'Made Possible' Campaign Wins PRNEWS Award for Best Visual Storytelling

The award-winning campaign spotlights the life-changing care children’s hospitals provide.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Children’s Hospital Association’s (CHA’s) “Made Possible by Your Children’s Hospital” campaign won the PRNEWS Platinum Award for Best Visual Storytelling Campaign of 2023.

The PRNEWS Platinum Awards honor the most innovative and influential digital communications campaigns. CHA launched the “Made Possible by Your Children’s Hospital” campaign in 2023 to position children’s hospitals for effective advocacy in Washington by raising awareness of the role children’s hospitals play in helping infants, children, and teens experience all of life’s meaningful moments. The campaign included ads featuring real pediatric patients, illustrating the crucial role children’s hospitals play in helping them reach important life moments, like walking for the first time or returning to school.

“CHA is honored to receive this award for our ‘Made Possible’ campaign, which tells the stories of the children whose lives have been profoundly changed by children’s hospitals and strengthens our advocacy for policies that ensure every child has access to the care they need,” said Leah Evangelista, Chief Public Affairs and Brand Officer of CHA. “This campaign is a celebration of the big and small moments children have been able to experience because of the advanced, specialized care that America’s children’s hospitals provide.”

“Made Possible by Your Children’s Hospital” ran throughout the Washington, D.C. metro area until the end of 2023 with digital, social media, radio and out-of-home advertising showcasing the transformative impact that children’s hospitals have on pediatric patients and their families. The campaign also addressed key issues, including the disconnect between the value children’s hospitals provide and the resources they receive from the federal government, as well as the nationwide shortage of pediatricians and pediatric specialists.

CHA’s “Made Possible by Your Children’s Hospital” campaign also earned honorable mentions from the PRNEWS Platinum Awards in the following categories: Healthcare/Pharmaceutical Campaign of the Year, Activism/Advocacy Campaign, Brand Reputation Campaign, and Public Affairs. In 2024, CHA built upon the successes in 2023 and captured the stories of four pediatric patients via long form video for inclusion in the campaign.
